Hi folks,

Tomorrow short will be getting a reboot in order to load a new kernel! Yay!
Services should all come back up provided they're configured in systemd
appropriately.

Thanks!

Hi there! I'm curious as to your suggested method for patching a running
kernel that is non-proprietary and properly licensed for server usage?

The YouTube link was meant as an encouragement / funny video.

But I'd say use kpatch:

Happy Monday, everyone!

The location for April 5th's social dinner is confirmed to be Kabob & Curry
on Hillsborough St. This meeting will be our last social dinner of the
semester, so we hope to see everyone there at 7pm! Even if you haven't been
able to attend in the past, we would love to get to meet you before the
semester draws to a close.

Feel free to hop onto IRC or Groupme if you have any questions. We're going
to try and keep this mailing list a bit quieter for the sake of our
subscribers' inboxes.

See you on Tuesday!

I need somebody that knows Linux, websites, SSL certificates, etc. really
well for a few hours. I am willing to pay for their time. I am going to
reorganize/update my servers, website, renew some SSL certificates, setup
some backup cron jobs, that type of thing. If you know of anybody that has
the skills and time to help me, please send me their contact info or give
them my information and have them contact me. I appreciate it Ed. Take care.

Hi LUG,

Our vice president Tony Iskander also serves as an officer in the
Information Assurance Student Group. This Tuesday at 7:00 they're meeting
in EB2 1229 to hear a penetration tester talk about what they do in the
industry. It should be very interesting and informative, especially if you
have an interest in computer security -- as we all should!

Since we have nothing planned for 4/12 and the IASG has graciously extended
an invitation to us, we'll be joining them in EB2 1229. For anyone
interested in the IASG or CSEC general this should be a good opportunity :-)

I hope to see you all there!
